REETEC supports SSC Wind for the installation of 54 Senvion offshore wind turbines

Bremen & Wildeshausen/Germany, August 31, 2017 – SSC Wind and REETEC are installing together on behalf of Senvion 54 turbines with a unit capacity of 6.2 MW for the 332 MW offshore wind farm Nordsee One. Both experienced services companies were already on board during the preparatory phase in Bremerhaven. The installation was organized via the base port in Eemshaven. The first Senvion 6.2M126 was installed in Nordsee One early March. Up to now 52 of the 54 Senvion turbines are installed.

Both wind energy service provider SSC Wind from Lower-Saxony and REETEC located in Bremen are working with several teams on the completion of the offshore wind farm. Nordsee One is located 40 kilometres far from the North Sea island Juist.

54 Senvion 6.2M126 were gradually transported from Bremerhaven via Eemshaven to the final destination Nordsee One with water depths between 26 and 29 metres. Value creation of this project during installation phase and in operation is concentrated in the North of Germany. Both wind energy service provider represent together over 35 years of wind industry experience.

REETEC provides in total 40 offshore wind employees for this project, many of them are experienced with Senvions technology. The turbine for Nordsee One reaches a maximal height of 152 metres above the lowest tides water level (LAT). The rotor’s diameter of each turbine is 126 metres.

The order should be finalized end of summer 2017. Next to the preparatory phase for the 54 Senvion 6.2M126, the construction and completion are further parts of this scope of work.

"SSC sought this partnership with REETEC with pleasure due to the joint developed offshore wind competences and the successful past and trusting collaboration. We are talking about a well-established Team that managed on each level, side on side, six joint projects. It is a huge advantage, being able to rely on each other out there", emphasised René Psarski, managing director of SSC Wind GmbH.

"REETEC was able to collect several experiences with Senvion technology in an early stage. We are very pleased about this order, cause of several positive experiences gained during collaboration with SSC Wind", Detlef Lindenau, managing director of REETEC GmbH, welcomes the order of SSC Wind.

REETEC launch a field test to enhance safety at onshore sites

09.05.2017 //

REETEC is testing state-of-the-art generation defibrillators on several onshore sites

Bremen/Germany, May 9th, 2017. REETEC, EDF EN Services’ subsidiary dedicated to wind energy installations and Operations and Maintenance (O&M) on- and offshore, is announcing the launch of a field test of teleconsultation system to continue improving the first aid concept on onshore wind sites. This defibrillator of the latest generation is aimed at easing communication and preventing difficulties with different languages between staff, external rescue teams or emergency physicians. Depending of the result of the field test, REETEC wants to equip all REETEC on- and offshore teams with this life-saving telemedical system.

Safety first. REETECs last HSE results show 938 days without lost time accident for REETECs employees. REETEC is strongly committed to provide its employees with maximum safety measures, using clear and strict procedures, plus innovative equipment. Wind power O&M services require high safety standards in order to reach the best risk mitigation process. All REETEC technicians are trained as first-aiders (EHO standard). Ongoing development of rescue technology and operations, such as this field test, is crucial to further optimize REETEC’s first-aid concept. This teleconsultation system being tested is complementary to REETEC’s safety policy.

IPAD-CU SP2 defibrillator system will be tested by REETEC staff during the next 6 months. While the main difficulty is to reach a steady data transmission at different sites of assignment, this equipment is available in different languages, permits a fluent exchange of information between emergency physician and first-aiders on site and allows delivering first information about the condition of the person who need assistance. The system in test period is well protected and integrates a live camera which allows video transmission.

REETEC Managing Director, Detlef Lindenau, says: "Safety for REETEC’s employees remains the focus behind all strategic and operational business decisions. Our latest HSE (Health Safety and Environment) results demonstrates 938 days without lost time accident for REETEC employees. Inspired by wind energy and by the most innovative technological solutions. This field test is a new opportunity for REETEC to further optimize our first-aid concept. We are working towards optimised safety conditions for REETECs technicians on all European onshore sites with the deployment of the new system following test result."

According to the test results, REETEC will consider equipping all its onshore and offshore teams with this innovative, tele-medical system, already common practice in offshore Inspection, Maintenance and Repair (IMR) and installation activities.
